Pre-application consultation

Once you’ve hired the right lawyer (and, for more information about how to do that, see other sections of this website), you and your trademark attorney will conduct one or more pre-application consultations with an eye towards accomplishing two objectives: (a) to enable the trademark attorney to review your proposed trademark / service mark, and the goods / services with which it is associated, in exhaustive detail to ensure that he or she thoroughly understands the nature of the mark sought to be protected; and (b) to organize and gather any documents, samples, and information the lawyer may need to commence preparation of the application.
