Issuance

Once the case has been placed in a condition for allowance, a final fee known as the Issue Fee becomes due.  Upon payment of the Issue Fee, the application will issue as a patent.  If the issue fee isn’t timely paid, the application will become abandoned as fully and effectively as if it had never been filed in the first place.
