Application preparationOnce the lawyer advises that he or she has everything he or she needs to prepare the application, preparation and filing of the application will likely proceed through two distinct phases: (1) preparation of the formal filing papers (including the nature of authorship associated with the application); and (2) preparation of the deposit (i.e., a sample) of the work sought to be registered that accompanies the body of the application.
